MREAC, with the support of the New Brunswick Department of Environment and Local Government (DELG) staff, has been actively involved in lake monitoring on the Miramichi watershed. The temperature profile data collected contributes to a provincial lake monitoring initiative. Along with temperature monitoring of the water column, MREAC collects a suite of environmental parameters including Dissolved Oxygen (DO), pH, and Specific Conductance.
MREAC deploys a vertical string of five temperature loggers, which are provided by DELG, at a select site and at various depths to collect long term water temperatures.
